Vice President of Technology

Shaheen Chowdhury leads the strategic direction and execution of Procom’s software products and IT operations that power Procom’s talent and enterprise business. He provides oversight for all information systems and, in collaboration with other business leaders in Procom, is driving optimization and efficiency across the enterprise. Over the last 15 years, Shaheen has been instrumental in shaping Procom’s growth through technology initiatives and innovation.  

Shaheen brings 20 years of product development and management experience to this position. Prior to his current role, Shaheen worked in various capacities including Software Engineer, Solution Architect, Team Lead, Development Manager and Director of Technology.

Shaheen holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (Software Engineering specialization) from the University of Toronto. As an avid advocate of agile practices, Shaheen is also a Certified SCRUM Master (CSM) and a Certified SCRUM Product Owner (CSPO). He is also an active contributor in open-source development communities and technology forums.

Recently, there has been an uptick of phishing scams involving cybercriminals impersonating organizations with the promise of job offers / opportunities. This wave of scams aims to prey on job seekers and trick them into sharing sensitive information or falling victim to financial fraud. Here are 6 ways to stay vigilant and spot a potential fraudulent job solicitation: Check for impersonation tactics: Phishers often use the names of established firms to appear credible. If a job offer seems too good to be true or lacks necessary details, it is essential to investigate further. A genuine recruiter will provide verifiable information and transparency about their offer. We prioritize open and transparent communication to earn your trust. Check for unexpected attachments: Genuine recruiters will never send unsolicited job offers with attachments. It is crucial to verify the authenticity of an email before opening any documents, especially if you didn't initiate contact. Always exercise caution when dealing with unexpected attachments. Check the links: Authentic recruiters will never direct you to non-official websites for job applications or personal data submissions. Always ensure that you click on links that lead to the organization's official website. This will help you avoid falling prey to phishing attempts. Verify the sender: Legitimate emails from reputable organizations like Procom will come from recognizable domains. Be cautious if an email comes from a free email service or a misspelled version of the domain as it is likely to be fraudulent. Procom will only email from our official domain, ensuring your correspondence with us is authentic. Beware of hidden content: Unlike phishing emails, authentic communications from reputable organizations do not hide important information behind images. Legitimate recruiters maintain clarity and openness in their dialogue with you. If a message is difficult to decipher, it's advisable to proceed with caution. Requests for money/sensitive Information: If you encounter a recruiter who pressures you to provide personal information or make a commitment hastily, it should serve as a major red flag. Legitimate recruiters understand that job decisions can take time and will never rush you or ask for any form of payment. As well, if the person that you are in contact with requests money from you (for paperwork, equipment, etc.) this should set off alarm bells that they are likely perpetrating a scam attempt. Conclusion: To protect yourself from online phishing scams, it is crucial to approach unsolicited job communications with caution. If you are in doubt about the legitimacy of an offer, contact the organization directly through their official website or verified social media channels. Remember that at Procom we prioritize your safety and security and will never ask for money when extending a job offer.
