André Couillard
President, Procom Québec

André Couillard a fondé Procom Québec Inc. (PQI) en février 2000 et en a fait l’une des plus importantes divisions de services de dotation en personnel dans le secteur des TI au pays. Avec plus de 1000 entrepreneurs dans les TIC qui œuvrent dans les villes de Montréal et de Québec et qui embauchent plus d’une centaine d’employés permanents annuellement, PQI, sous la direction de M. Couillard, génère des revenus de plus de 125 millions de dollars. PQI a été désignée à huit reprises par le magazine Profit comme l’une des sociétés canadiennes dont la croissance était la plus rapide.

Depuis 25 ans, M. Couillard est un membre actif du secteur des TIC. Son poste de vice-président de Procom dans l’est du Canada lui a permis de rationaliser les opérations commerciales du Groupe Procom au Québec et dans les provinces de l’Atlantique. M. Couillard est également membre de l’équipe de direction du Groupe Procom, un membre Platine du groupe des sociétés les mieux gérées au Canada depuis 10 ans.

Résident de longue date de Montréal, M. Couillard détient un baccalauréat en commerce de l’Université de Toronto et un MBA pour cadres de l’Université Concordia. Avec ses quatre enfants, il est également très actif dans sa communauté et fait du bénévolat auprès de différentes équipes sportives. M. Couillard est également un membre actif d’Anges Québec, qui soutient des entreprises à différents stades de démarrage. M. Couillard dirige également les Défenseurs Procom dans des campagnes de financement pour soutenir Leucan.

The onset of the COVID-19 pandemic has only accelerated existing contingent workforce trends, growing already-heightened demand for direct sourcing thanks to the evolution and expansion of talent acquisition technological tools and services.

While there is no universally accepted definition, direct sourcing in a contingent workforce context can be understood as “the process by which a company leverages its own internal candidate pool … to place within the company as temporary employees,” according to a 2021 report using research by Staffing Industry Analysts.

Properly done, reference checks are an excellent opportunity to verify all the key issues in your hiring decision for the candidate - ranging from qualitative information about a candidate's skill set, strengths and weaknesses, character traits and overall ability to perform the job they are being considered for.   

Great references start with effective preparation and ensuring you are prepared to ask the right questions A great way to do this is to draft a script to ensure you stay on-topic and ask the questions you need to ask when checking references.
